Illegal activities will continue with illicit firearms regardless of what restrictions are placed on law abiding citizens Mr Abbot. Perhaps this root issue needs to be addressed as does organised crime/drugs and not over governance of those trusted few amongst us who have been through countless reviews and police checks etc. Community and stakeholer/expert engagement makes for good policy that is based on evidence as opposed to knee jerk over reactions eg: 1996 gun law amendments & now.

I am appalled with the prime ministers decision to block the importation of the Adler shotgun without consultation with the firearm industry and relevant stake holders.

These firearms have been legal for over 100+ years. Rapid fire is a machine gun. I am ex military and I know the difference. I served my country with a gun. I learned to love the competition and the science behind shooting. It is one of the only things that I enjoy now after serving in your wars. Let me keep my guns and I will always be on top of the best way to store them and do the right thing as safety is concerned. Taking away my firearms will not cure anything as criminals do not abide by laws.

We r honest Australians. All u will do by changing these gun laws is punish our australian farmers which are already struggling enough in these hard times. Get out of ur air conditioned offices and go see what keeps Australia ours and Ull see how badly pest eradication is required in all parts of this country. U can not see this by sitting behind a desk or talking to the media

This is just ridiculous scare tactics used by the media to scare the public into disarming law abiding gun owners.
Criminals will get and use anything they can, legal or not.
