If these type of guns are banned then I will make sure that my family and I never vote for the coalition government ever again. This is absolute over reaction and again blaming law abiding citizens for the actions of a few.

Knee-jerk reaction to a tragic event.
So do not penalize legal firearms owners for the illegal actions of another non law abiding citizen who didn't even use legal means (licensed ownership) to obtain the firearm for his crime.

You lot are making it more difficult for responsible people to have rifles but the crims will always have them. The main people who agree are the ones who carry weapons as part of their job and can protect themselves and families or they have bodyguards doing it for them.

Iam 62 next birthday and had a air rifle at the age of five. Hunted as a sport in all that time, still do. Seen a lot of gun law changes in that time, most in my opinion are made by people that do not have or ever fired a gun that are unreasonable. Government are doing to gun owners what they are doing to cigarettes making it hard by over pricing etc. The gun laws are so stupid now that if there is a problem like an argument etc doesn't have to be in your home and police are called, the first question asked by police is, do own guns. Guns are taken and can take many months to get them back. A licence gun owner can't use a friends gun without that person being present. Seems not just with guns, but with traffic fines etc, we are over governed and over policed. I feel our country's laws are heading the way of communism, control the people and take their money, keep them poor. My dad is turning in his grave as he fought in World War Two his country. Now it's run by solicitors etc in government that have never been in the bush. What will our country be like in years to come only the rich will own a gun, car, etc, unless we all stand up now for ourselves and have our voices heard.

WTF Lever-Action? Are you serious? I don't see anyone committed crimes with Lever Actions. You all are wasting time, resources and fees over lever action. No wonder other countries are saying Australia is a joke. I understand semi/auto weapons but Lever action? No i don't understand the reason to have it change to different category or banned.
