Tony Abbott, MP Prime Minister Parliament House CANBERRA ACT 2600 Dear Mr. Abbott I am writing to you as a result of your recent decision to temporarily ban the importation of the Adler A110 12 Gauge shot gun. I am deeply disappointed that both my fellow sporting shooters and I are being judged based on the actions of a few unscrupulous members of the public. As a licensed sporting shooter, I have already passed and continue to adhere to the strict regulations imposed on me, as well as the ethical code of conduct an Australian sporting shooter. I am disheartened by the knee jerk reaction of our current government to ban the importation of the Adler leaver action shot gun. The Adler been incorrectly and sensationally flagged as a ‘high powered, semi-automatic weapon’ when it is a reliable, safe piece of sporting equipment that meets current Category A legislation. As a resident of Sydney, I was disgusted with the actions of Man Haron Monis’s at Martin Place and do not want to see this occur on Australian soil again. However the use of this incident to judge over 800,000 lawful and licensed sporting shooters is unacceptable. The continued persecution of both my fellow sporting shooters and I must stop. Mr Abbott, Australia’s sporting shooters and I are not a threat. Like most of Australia’s shooting community I am a proud Australian, a father, a tax payer and a voter who wants to preserve their sport for generations to come. I call you now to look through the noise and propaganda and see the Adler A110 shot gun is just another variant of a centuries old firearm design, identical to any lever action available to Category A license holderstoday. As a father of two , girl and a boy, I want to instill in them both the sporting heritage passed down from my father as well as faith that our political system is fair and

John howard already restricted our firearm laws enough. Banning lever action rifles is ridiculous.
