This is the most RIDICULOUS thing I've heard of in our sport! This silly board is trying to take the opportunity away from a 15 year old boy to play for his country??? The fact they don't realize how wrong this is, is incredible to me. Might be time for a new board!! It's simple LET HIM PLAY!

WIAA should be happy they have remarkable talent good enough to play overseas. Give the kid a chance to support both avenues.

In Massachusetts, the MIAA has this same type of policy. The one exception is if a student athlete has the opportunity to represent his or her country. This would make much more sense. Good luck!

Let him play! I doubt this rule was intended for this reason. Athletes should never be held back from competing at a higher level.

This governing body should not prohibit exceptionally talented individuals from achieving the highest of honors as youth. It is the goal of every athletic association to campaign for success, not deter from participation.

I would ask that you let this boy play and represent Wisconsin proudly as a part of Team USA! What an honor for him, his parents and his coaches to see him excel! Not to mention how it could bring much needed attention to youth and high school hockey in the state.
