I play u16 AAA hockey for Victory Honda and am drafted by Cedar Rapids Roughriders in the USHL. If this kid gets a chance to play for his country, he should have nothing holding him back. The leauge should be proud of this kid and be eager to let him play.

Ty should be allowed to play in both Junior Olympics & High School without retribution, PLAY ON!!!

The WIAA should be ashamed at their lack of common sense.. High School's priority is academics and the extras are all excellent learning and life experiences. Would a theater student be kicked off the high school play based on them participating in their local church play? Would a band student be kicked off the high school band if they played one night with the Milwaukee symphony? I could go on and on. The WIAA has to deal with a broad spectrum of ignorant parents trying to cheat the system, this is not one of those situations Time for the WIAA to grow a pair and make a common sense decision that honoring your country should be an exception to the rule or does the WIAA not believe in the red, white and blue?

As a former college hockey player and coach, my experience has been that every player who has had the privilege to play for his country has returned to the team as a better person for the experience of representing his country in international competition. To deprive a young man of such an experience is unreasonable and unfortunate. I would ask that the WIAA Board reconsider this policy and allow nominated athletes to compete in international competition then return to their high school teams to compete their eligibility.

How unfortunate that the WIAA chooses to limit this or any young persons ability to compete at the highest levels in their sport.
A demonstration with buracracy can dictate with preceived power & ego.
Let the young man play at a levle that will make all of Wisconsin proud. It's not as complicated as WIAA wants you to believe it is.
Just let him play!
