I think it is absolutely stupid to punish a student or athlete who has a once in a chance lifetime to represent the USA. I really don't understand why some rules are put in place.

Please do not make a talented young man have to choose between the Olympics and High School. Support him anyway possible. Talent like this only helps the State. The rules are antiquated and don't apply. Thank you.

It's an absolute joke that the WIAA is not allowing Ty Emberson to participate with his high school team in the playoffs after he returns from representing the United States at the Youth Olympic Games. There is no benefit to anyone by blocking him from returning to his team. The kid is left in a no-win spot where he needs to choose between representing his country and playing for his high school with his brother and his buddies. The WIAA needs to change this rule. Our community and state should be proud of players like Ty who appears to be the next great player coming out of this region.

Too bad the kid can't be two places at once. It is unfortunate that the timing of the junior Olympics is at the same time as WIAA hockey playoffs. But other major sport events like basketball and swimming are in the off season. Let him play both!
