DU has turned its back on MANY of its students INCLUDING women at CWC (Colorado Women's College) because we are not privileged, white OR male! I fully support your stand against DU's BLANTANT dismissal of your rights, liberties and traditions! DU MUST DIVEST, DU MUST take responsibility for the students that they invoked and implied a relationship of trust with! SHAME ON DU...DU FAILED CWC and they fail to see how their refusal to DIVEST is a "slap in the face" to ALL INDIGENOUS PEOPLE whom they actually owe retribution to...WAKE UP DU you are FAILING US ALL!!!

I hope the BoT reconsiders its decision in the light of this petition, which makes a compelling case that divestment is not just about climate change but also about the university's avowed commitment to the Native community. The university should also reconsider its decision in the light of environmental protections being stripped at an alarming rate. #DivestDU

This is a powerful statement on the social impacts of extractive industries against the Native American people. Given DU's commitment to the future of its students, creating an enduring future for the public good, and to "promote healing... [and] uniting us as a community," I strongly urge the Board of Trustees to reconsider their position on divesting from fossil fuels.

Overall it may not make a significant dent. However, every little 'insignificant' action is a contribution and recognition of the path we walk for future generations. There is a moral and ethical obligation to walk the talk in supporting the human and civil rights of ALL people and cultures especially within the artificial boundaries of the USA. Please reconsider your decision.
