Letter to Danish Minister of Health against dismissal of Peter Gotzsche

Dr. Gøtzsche's points out where the earth is flat in modern medicine. Please don't punish him for that. The community of patients harmed by "evidence based" treatments desperately needs advocates, who dare to question the current state of evidence. Dr. Gøtzsche is one of the few medical professionals who dares to speak up when the evidence base of a treatment is flawed through conflicts of interest and publication biased or simply outdated. Don't dismiss Dr. Gøtzsche!!!!

The work of Prof. Gotzsche is admirable, especially for his scientific integrity, rigor and unusual resilience to political or mercantilist pressures. I have an objection to the possible dismissal of Peter Gøtzsche from his job at the Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen.

He is and has been for decades the conscience of medical research and his removal benefits only the vested interests of the pharmaceutical industry. His reviews have changed the way we approach and evaluate evidence based medicine. The Nordic Cochrane Centre has earned an international reputation under Dr Gøtzsche's leadership, a reputation that will quickly tarnish should he be forced to leave. Best regards

If you get this kind of treatment for speaking scientific opinion, there is no scientific freedom, and world will be so much the worse for it. We as society must not agree with and cooperate with this kind of ideological and scientific tyrranny. Without freedom of discussion, of ability by people to express their ideas, how are we to advance knowledge.
