Letter to Danish Minister of Health against dismissal of Peter Gotzsche

I do not know the reasons why it was suggested that Peter Cotzsche should be dismissed. I hope these reasons are strong and convincing because Dr Gotzsche's contribution to the debate surrounding clinical evidence has been more than strong and convincing. Such contribution should be protected and encouraged, not silenced and discarded.

The stifling of free speech, and a reluctance to accept alternative views exists. The inability to accept other views, and the views of others, whether we agree with them or not is a worrying trend that threatens to blight our inherited Enlightenment. If the truth is robust, the information true, tolerance abounds for alternative views. If not, the ideologues step in and squash “dissent”. Is this another example of this behaviour?

Dr Gotzsche has performed as an exemplary professional displaying great integrity and providing invaluable leadership. It is a measure of his success that he is now under attack. I urge you to support him as a champion of scientific rigour.

Patient safety, sounds like what every physician should strive for.

Peter Gotzche has suggested that elements of the drug industry operate in the manner of organized crime. And they are proving him right.

From my 50 years of studying healthy lifestyle for the prevention of illness, i know that Peter Gotzsche is right in what he says. The big drug companies are there primarily to make money and don't like people promoting health lifestyle. Peter is standing up to them and should be recognised for his courageous stand and supported.

Peter Gotzsche does important work for evidence based medicine. The power of the drug companies in corrupting outcomes via funding, editorial boards and so on is well documented. It is vital critical voices such as Gotzsche are not silenced, but encouraged.

Stop scientific sensorship . Don’t silence the messenger of truth.

We need more of his kind ! Not less.

We cannot stop Freedom of Speech, and we cannot stop informed choice.

I agree with the letter content to Danish Miniister of Health especially in regard to Dr Gotzsche advocacy for clinical data transparency and independence of medical research free from conflicts of interest.

It is simply disgraceful the way Peter has been treated. Medicine needs people with courage, honesty and integrity. Those people should be empowered, both to seek and to speak the truth. It is fast becoming a junk science, proliferating and protecting dangerous medicines and big reputations - to the detriment of people like me who were seriously harmed by them. The world is watching

Dr Gotzsche is being victimised four upholding the highest scientific standards to expose the shortcomings and dangers of psychiatric drugs. His dismissal is a disgraceful succumbing to vested interests and an abandonment of academic freedom

A layperson but believe my husband was overprescribed drugs which made him ill.

It is criminal if you remove someone from their position when they are trying to help so many!! Please don’t be influenced by the pharmaceutical industries!!

Peter Gotzsche has served as a bastion against fraud in medical research perpetrated by corporations.
