Letter to Danish Minister of Health against dismissal of Peter Gotzsche

It has been so obvious for me as a lay person to start noticing the inconsistencies and fraud of pharmaceutical companies. I have done much research and recently read Dr. G's book " deadly medicines and organized crime" which simply confirmed

Amen.

Surely those with integrity should be retained, not dismissed?! Don't allow the foxes to be in charge of the hen house!!

Dr. Gotzsche's book "Deadly Medicines and Organized Crime" is one of the good ones! Too bad I learned too late. What happened to me may be, as they say, "very rare"...or maybe not...but after just 7 months on simvastatin, I lost the ability to walk unaided. The year before, at age 69, I was trekking in the Himalayas. (see StatinStories.com) If I'd known of Dr. Gotzsche's book earlier, I could still walk. The world of healthcare is particularly ugly these days. I have no idea where I might find help. David

I am no expert in psychiatric medications, as is my family General Practitioner, and we rely on robust examination of the scientific evidence by those not financially dependent or in the pay of the pharmaceutical industry. It is a fact that psychiatric medication will take as much as a third off the life expectancy of the mental patient. There is argument as to the efficacy of mood stabilisers, antidepressants, and antipsychotics and whether they do actually help the individual. Every penny spent on ineffective drugs is a penny denied in other forms of care. This is a debate we need internationally and Dr. Peter Gøtzsche is an important voice in the world.

Dr Peter Gotzsche is valued for his rare qualities of integrity, responsibility and compassion for humanity. His dismissal will be detrimental for the reputation of the scientific community.

It seems independent and honest oversight of medical/pharmaceutical organizations and journals is dying. Please don't let this happen. We need more like Dr. Peter Gotzsche,

Independent, science-based and courageous researchers like Dr. Peter Gotzsche are difficult to find. His dismissal despite his valuable research contributions spreads doubt on the adherence to the Latin expression 'Audiatur et altera pars' (listening to the other side). The drawn conclusion and the denial to reverse his seemingly unfair dismissal casts shadow on the professional competency of the Minister of Health in Denmark. In research it is absolutely normal to ask critical questions, find contraditory answers which are then evaluated and finally discussed anew. Why does a Danish Minister of Health does not seem to realise such basic principles. In my view the Danish Health Minister seems to be overwhelmed by the requirements of mediating ordinary disagreements with highly respected research personnel. Hopefully, such a Health Minister will be replaced soon for the benefit of the tax paying population and the reputation of the country!

Nur dank solchen Menschen, die Mut zur Wahrheit haben und für die Menschheit kämpfen, bekommen wir Chance uns und unsere Kinder zu schützen. Seid nicht leichtgläubig und damit auch leichtsinnig. Unser Körper und der Körper unserer Kindern ist ein wundervoll durchdachtes Werk. Bevor er zum Opfer von der Pharmaindustrie wird, nehmt wahr was solche Menschen wie Peter Gøtzsche, Martin Hirte, Prf. Dr. Bruce Lipton und viele anderen sagen.

I worked in the mental health system in the UK as a social worker for over 20 years. I came to see and understand the damage the biomedical model of psychiatry does to service users, including shortening of life expectancy and causing death. We need the courage and knowledge of those such as Peter Gøtzsche to shine a rigorous scientific light on the uses amd abuses of psychiatry and its pharmalogical treatments. The system should not be shooting the messenger but applauding his rigour and listening to such a distinguished dissenting voice. What does it tell us when a system or government cannot tolerate reasoned scientific criticism?

It is time to stop the pharmaco-medical organized crime of the third millenium
