I teach ASL for 12 years now and I am Deaf. It’s essential that a Deaf person to teach ASL and the Deaf Culture because ASL is our native language and we have experienced barriers, audial, and living our lives as Deaf persons.

I wholeheartedly agree with this petition. Would Carleton dare hire a non-Indigenous person to teach Indigenous culture, language, and history? I certainly hope not.
Should hire deaf ASL professional teacher
I support this. Thank you
