Letter to Archbishop Lucas re: Fr. Steve Emanuel

I have received personal guidiance from Father Steve. He has helped me through some difficult times may The Lord Bless him

We are devastated as Fr Steve greatly and positively impacted our family’s Catholic faith. We pray that the Archdiocesan leadership comes to the correct conclusion to reinstate Fr Steve so he can continue to help other families like ours. If not, this would be an immeasurable loss to the Catholic Church!

It’s interesting to me that leadership in the archdiocese has the belief that they are the rulers. I’ve known priests not worthy of their position and you did nothing about it. Father Steve has done nothing but rebuild our community after you allowed prior priests to tear it apart. Father Steve is respected by all of us and looked up to for spiritual advice. I always thought church and state were to be separate but seems to me that politics are being played by both and we as Catholics are the ones on trial.

This is the reason why people are afraid to enter the priesthood

As I endorse this beautifully written petition letter I realize the probable futility of this process. I find it so ironic that the mistrust issues lie within the Archdiocesan leadership and not with our priests. The hypocrisy of protecting yourself at the expense of a good man and faithful priest is deplorable. Fr. Steve is innocent and yet will continue to participate in a broken and unjust process to regain YOUR trust? I pray that Fr Steve returns to active ministry soon! I pray too that my faith and trust in the Archdiocesan leadership can someday be restored and that a very broken political system be reformed for the good of ALL!

Those Emanuel’s, especially Fr. Steve, are wonderful, holy people!

Fr Steve has been an outstanding shepherd, not only with our family but also with the parish, elderly, sick, schools and community! He has performed baptisms, first communions, weddings and a funeral for us He did those all as the great holy shepherd he is. Please reinstate Fr Steve immediately so he can immediately!

We have been blessed to have fr. Steve as our Church leader. He has been a mentor to our family in so many ways. We pray you will restore him to public ministry - He has been a good and faithful servant and again a blessing to all.

Father Steve has been and always will be a great priest that sparks fire in individuals to find the Holy Spirit.

Father Steve is a highly respected Priest. His Homilies never fail to inform. please fully reinstate Father Steve. He has helped our family through many tough situations with his counsel . thank you

Please reinstate Father Steve right away! We need more priests like him!!

Father Steve impacted many members of my family in a positive way. We have known him to be a most Holy and honorable man and Priest that lived Christ teachings and successfully shared Catholic beliefs. Please fully reinstate Him to serve His Lord by teaching Gods people. You will be letting the Evil one, Satan control your decision if you remove him. Thank you

Father Steve is a great man and mentor for many of us and our children

I truly believe you, George Lucas, have made a HUGE mistake in what our church life should look like. George Lucas, you have done nothing but put a great man out of his calling, you alone did that. I, along with many many parishioners and faithful people trust father Steve. He’s baptized our family, married our family, and even has buried some of the people we love most. George Lucas, you have taken away a gift from a very talented servant of God. You should be ashamed. I pray for Father Steve to live his life fully through Christ still, however George Lucas, right now you are not.

Fr. Steve has had a positive impact on our family. He ministers to his flock in a way to strengthen the faith of all age groups and we need that in a world that offers so many challenges.

My husband and I were very lucky to have Father Steve help us complete our marriage prep for our wedding nearly 5 years ago. Each year on our anniversary, we watch our mass video just to listen to the homily that Father Steve gave - each year it has a different meaning to us. My husband and I will continue to pray for Father Steve and pray for the Holy Spirit to give guidance to the church leaders.

Such a great leader to our children and community.

I am so disappointed and sad that this is happening. Every day there is devastating news about our Holy Catholic Church and now this is one more good holy priest removed that has been cleared by church law and the Nebraska State patrol. I don’t understand. Why are you punishing good holy priests and good Catholic lay people by taking our priests from us. We need this good men to help us get to heaven. We are praying for you and that you will return our priest to us. God Bless.
