We hope you are doing well and staying safe during this trying time.

We are an independent group of students of the BIM Management Graduate Certificate Program from George Brown, that decided to get together and reach you asking for your support.

Most of us are international students. As you might be already aware, international students already have to face numerous challenges to graduate in a foreign country.

We know that George Brown College does not measure any effort to offer the necessary support that we need to achieve that. And, we can say that also applies to domestic students.

The recent announcement of the Student Association relief fund to support all students was very well welcomed, and we are very grateful for that.

However, we are facing a non-ordinary situation, worldwide. Many of us cannot find jobs or lost the ones that they had, due to this pandemic crisis. Also, just a few are eligible for the emergency response benefit announced by the government (CERB).

Now, many of us, are getting to the point that we will have to choose between paying the rent or our college tuition.

That is why we have decided to ask for your support helping us to get through this unprecedented situation together.

Considering that we had recently moved from presential classes to online, we started to wonder if the payment of a full tuition is justified. It is not difficult to notice a considerable decay in the quality of the lectures because of this. In addition, a lot of us were relying on George Brown College’s facilities and appliances to keep the pace of our academic obligations, such as library, notebooks, software, etc., which are essential for our program.

With that in mind, we would like to propose a compensation: a reasonable discount in the next term’s tuition.

We will be grateful for your assistance during this challenging and busy time; and, your quick response would be much appreciated.
