Sadly Clark states that there are too many programs for positions available which is untrue. There is still a shortage and the shortage comes in because not everyone continued their career as a nurse. It's a high stress job that not everyone can handle once the security of your preceptor is taken away. This would be such a loss to our community.

Grand-daughter Jenny has worked for several years getting her prerequisite done and entered the program this fall. Holding down a job, taking care of her family and attending class is challenging her. Please, reconsider the idea of cuts. Thanks.

I have yet to get accepted into the nursing program and it's already extremely competitive.

As a recipient of the excellent education this program offers, I strongly request a reconsideration of any decision to cut program budget.

The nursing program gets return on investment that many other expenses don't get. I'd look elsewhere for budget cuts.

I have been working very hard these past two years taking prerequisites for the nursing program and as many as 23 credits per quarter! I have been under a lot of stress, and spent my last two years mostly at school, giving up my social life just to get into the nursing program. But to find out that proposed budget cuts will further decrease my chances in getting into the nursing program and not having a quality education, dissapoints me greatly.

The nurses are the heart and soul of the medical industry. They are already overworked and under-paid. Sacrifices in education and training is not acceptable.

Nurses are the true heroes in the lives of all of us when any of us or our family, friends & loved ones need a caring hand- this is a vital program to our community

Please take a more realistic and long-term look at what is being proposed. I think you will find these cuts may look great on a short-term spreadsheet, but fail to invest in the continued growth of this well respected program. As is often the case with plans that focus only on short-term penny pinching, I believe that only a few years from now it would be looked upon in an embarrassing light. Don't rely on hindsight being 20/20, have the courage to boldly fund, if not EXPAND the Clark Nursing Program.

A budget cut would be devastating and a tragedy!! Please strongly consider all the implications of a budget cut in the nursing department!!

With a nurse shortage, this needs to be carefully considered!

My little sister is currently in the nursing program at Clark College. It's a wonderful program and I would hate to see these budget cuts cause a lack in her or any other nursing student's education. We need nurses as much, if not more than, we need doctors.
