Dear Ms. Cline,
As the school year is wrapping up, we wanted to express our gratitude for inviting Mrs. Bellagamba back to Tatem as a long-term substitute this year. As parents, we appreciate her experience as an educator and her personal dedication to our children. Therefore, we are writing to express our enthusiasm and support that she will be a permanent part of the Tatem community next year.
Mrs. Bellagamba is a valuable resource and her experience aligns directly with Haddonfield School District's recently adopted Strategic Goals including: Socio-Emotional Learning, Cultural Competency and Contemporary Teaching and Learning.
As an example, she addresses socio-emotional learning by teaching her students resilience and compassion throughout the year. She has incorporated reading selections that reflect themes including good citizenship, persistence, inclusion and those that honor diversity. She includes these lessons organically and incorporates them daily into the classroom.
Additionally, she addressed cultural competency within her reading selections, intentionally highlighting books that featured diverse communities and characters who have faced adversity. This led to thoughtful classroom discussions which students have carried home. This aligns directly with the work of the Community Partners for Equitable and Inclusive Education which has been meeting throughout the school year.
As to her experience within Contemporary Teaching and Learning, Mrs. Bellagamba implements a balanced literacy framework and she uses Lucy Calkins units of study to supplement other materials used in class.
As parents of children at Tatem, we are stakeholders in the quality of teachers our children have and in the positive experiences our children have in the classroom.
Retaining quality, experienced educators such as Mrs. Bellagamba, is in the best interest of our children, especially when their teaching philosophy is in line with the District's Goals. We are concerned with Tatem’s history of high teacher turnover and the recent data, per the Board of Education, that has demonstrated that Tatem test scores are significantly lower than the other elementary schools in town. We see Mrs. Bellagamba as a step toward changing the narrative for Tatem and look forward to seeing her in school next year.
Sincerely,

Mrs. Bellagamba has proven her value to our children all year and now we need to make sure the school board knows exactly how much this community supports her. Please email your local school board representative today and tell them why we need her in a permanent position for next year.

Keep this energy high as we move toward our next conversation with the administration.

This year has been the best experience, by far, for Lucas at Tatem. Lucas has always struggled with school and Mrs. Bellagamba finally “cracked the code”. She has been extremely supportive & patient with him. As a parent, I am extremely grateful for her insight, expertise, and encouragement. I sincerely hope she will be back at Tatem for many years to come!
I have had 5 children go through Tatem over the past 18 years. Mrs. Bellagamba is by far one my and my child’s favorites. She is a wonderful person and educator.
Ms. B is a fantastic teacher and great role model. My daughter asked her to be on the panel for her girl scout leadership conference. It would be negligent not to hire as a permanent teacher.
With the seemingly high turnover rate at Tatem, one would think the district would be eager to hire someone as universally beloved by both parents and students as Lisa Bellagamba.
My daughter Megan is in currently in Mrs. Bellagamba’s class. I cannot say enough good things about her. She exhibits the perfect balance of control of the class room, educational excellence and compassion. It would be a mistake not to offer her a position.
Ms. Bellagamba has been an absolute treasure and we are so grateful she was Vivian's teacher this year.
Ms Bellagamba has done wonders for Jax. Tatem should be honored to retain her

Ellie loved having Mrs. Bellagamba this year. As a parent, it is evident to me how much she cares about her students, pushing each of them to achieve their potential, not only academically but as good citizens in their community. I truly hope that she will be become a permanent teacher at Tatem - our children deserve a school full of teachers like her.
