Letter of Support for 100% renewable standard option in Newton Power Choice Contract

Please negotiate a 100% default in the next Newton Power Choice contract!

It is critical that Newton maintain our leadership on fighting climate change. We can afford this, and those who cannot can opt down easily.

Mayor Fuller, your decision about the default level last time was bold and well-timed. I urge you to set the default level this time at 100%. You know that I will support you on this decision and the other important decisions you will make in the coming year. Thank you!

Newton needs to lead the way, and moving to 100% default is a critical step in fighting our climate crisis. Other towns will follow our lead.

Climate change is an existential issue--will we destroy life on planet earth or let it thrive?

The Garden City must lead MA on the path to carbon neutral now. Thank you for showing you care about our future.

We must be part of the change that needs to happen to restore our Earth/stop depleting our natural resources.

Very important that we make progress fighting climate change now

Please keep your pledge to carbon neutral in the Climate Action Plan. As Mayor, you have the power to shift Newton’ dramatically toward carbon neutral with a stroke of the pen. Please commit to 100% renewables as default.

Please set our Newton Power Choice contract to 100% New England Class. Global warming is too rapidly threatening our health , lives and plants and animals. Less than full measures taken is dangerous.

We need this to be passed!

There is too much at stake to delay doing the absolute most we can to halt a climate catastrophe. How then will we answer our children and grandchildren when they say "you knew and you didn't take action quickly or decisively enough."
