To the Founders, the Foundation, the Board of Trustees and Patrons of the Green School,

We the signees of this open letter represent existing, potentially returning parents, students and financial donors for Green School Bali.

We believe that the sudden resignations, an unexpected appointment, minimal communication and transparency by remaining Trustees in recent weeks reflects unstable leadership. The apparent lack of process shared in the email of May 10th 2018, by which a decision was made to take the Green School Foundation in an entirely new for-profit direction has de-stabilized Green School in our final weeks and weakened the integrity of our brand. This is all putting at risk our ability as a school to retain good staff, families and especially financial donors, something our scholarship program depends on. This is not acceptable. We believe this also puts at risk our Founders' legacy, but most important their initial vision and mission which is what inspires everyone to come to Green School.

Fortunately we have utmost confidence in Green School's Management Board, their integrity, transparency and combined skill sets to make the best decisions on behalf of Green School Bali. They have a deep understanding of our unique community of learners and know how the sustainability of our school is dependent on all levels of management adhering to the Governance structures in place when making decisions for the school.

At this stage, we see our "on island" Management Board to be in the best position to assist the remaining Trustees on behalf of all Green School stakeholders on how best to set up a more representative Board of Trustees that allows Green School to continue flourishing as a nonprofit organisation. Additionally, this would put Green School Bali in a better position as a resource for the Green School Foundation and the opening of more schools.

Until this new Board of Trustees is established, with due process and full transparency, we put our confidence in our legal and representative Management Board to be in charge of hires, fires, successor hires and transitions. We do not accept new leadership that bypass's hiring policies established by our Management Board, disregarding the Governance structures the school has spent years developing. These policies are in place to ensure we always have the best leadership and the smoothest transitions possible.

We trust our current Management Board and senior leadership with our tuition fees, our fund raising, our budget, their ability to ensure that our resources remain intact and that our relationship as a Yayasan (not for profit) to any potential "capital generative entity" of the Green School Foundation is legally sound for the benefit of all stakeholders.
