I am a former instructor. Fitness is my passion but not my career so I stepped away to focus on my professional life. I totally sympathize with the financial challenges that GoodLife has faced, like so many businesses. Instructors are only paid when they teach. While it is true that there are less classes on the schedule, I have to wonder why GL would not give 1-2 classes a week to a larger group of experienced instructors. I see some instructors have classes every day. What is going to happen if GL can expand the number of classes? Would you not want to have experienced instructors delivering classes if possible? I suggest there is a limit on the number of classes that one person can deliver. Important to note that some instructors have full-time jobs outside GoodLife. Are you wanting instructors to be more or less full time teaching?

Not fair how these long time instructors have been treated. As a former instructor I am appalled!

It is the group exercise instructors that sets Goodlife apart from the others gyms and the only reason why I keep my membership!

I am one of the Group Fitness Instructors whose job was terminated. We are heartbroken at not only the loss of a job that was beloved to us, but also by the lack of respect GoodLife showed in the decision-making process. There are instructors who I helped to train that have been kept on, while I have been let go. There was no consideration for seniority or for who is best fit for the job (ie: no performance appraisals). I am extremely disappointed in GoodLife.

Thank you Alisa. I trust that Goodlife will see that we are sad and disappointed that we will no longer be part of this group

Thank you for your consideration. I cannot imagine another company with such a dedicated group of employees who care so deeply for Goodlife’s mandate, and most importantly, the health and wellness of its members.

We’ve supported and stood by GoodLife by writing letters to our local MP’s during the pandemic in solidarity to keep clubs across Canada open safely with our support. Please don’t forget all the great things and sacrifices our instructors have done for this company and for its members

I am grateful to be a recalled instructor but surprised by the manner by which my fellow instructors have been terminated. Most of them found out via a short email. Some of these instructors have been teaching for over a decade and it seemed inconsiderate to not at least pick up the phone and call them.
