Hello, we are very concerned about the one-use plastic waste in my small town of Summit, NJ. With this petition we will go to local stores and ask them to limit the amount of one-use plastic they use. We want to restrict things like plastic bottles, bags, containers and straws. Please Help Our Town.

We are currently meeting with shop owners across Summit to discuss alternatives to plastic bags and bottles. Email your local representative today to insist they prioritize this policy change. Please text three friends the link to this page so we can build more momentum for our upcoming town meeting.

Limit is too soft. They need to be completely banged. It's not that hard to switch to paper straws or do away with straws altogether (who needs them anyway? if cup is dirty, why on Earth would I use a straw to drink liquid contained in a dirty cup!) Same thing for styrofoam. Complete ban is in order.
Summit Council can support passage of the NJ statewide plastic bill in the state legislature.
We need to create political will in Summit around the issue of single use plastic.

Yes! Let our great town be part of positive world change. Think globally, Act locally!
