Most parents, of school age children, are extremely aware that the Common Core curriculum is leaving a deep scar on the American educational system. This teaching system has left so many children, and parents, in virtual tears and caused many sleepless nights. Parents across the United States are tired of seeing their children live in fear of their educational system. Parents are tired of seeing their childs grade point average plummet, sometimes, to the point where a child is held back in school. It has reached the point where most parents are incapable of helping with homework because, even, they do not understand where Common Core is trying to go.

The truth, that, most every parent knows, is that, grades are not improving, they are failing. Our children are failing because of Common Core. The Federal government, as usual, will not take responsibility for one of its most destructive creations. State governments refuse to take action because they receive Federal money to keep this monstrosity active. The schools themselves refuse to stop teaching it because of the Federal and State money that they are promised. The dollar should not be the standard bearer of our childrens intellectual enhancement. Regardless of how the Federal and State governments define the success of their creations, you and I, the parents, know the reality.

The purpose of this petition is to send a message to our elected officials. We are sending the message that we know Common Core is a failure, We are sending a message that we know there is a better way, We are sending a message that the government should stop thinking in dollar signs and start thinking about what is, actually, best for our children and our future. We are sending the message that schools should be free to choose the curriculum they believe best fits the future of our children without the fear of losing the federal and state funding they deserve. Let our educators choose what they know to be best. The educators are the professionals in this arena not the Federal government.

It's very simple. We the People, demand that the Federal government, and State governments, repeal, and or, remove all funding restrictions that prevent school systems from teaching the curriculum that the individual school so desires to teach. We the People demand that all schools remain free to choose their own curriculum without fear of losing the funding they deserve. We the People demand that all schools be free to refuse Common Core guidelines without fear of losing Federal and State funding, so long as, the chosen curriculum meets past Federal and State guidelines.
