DE in some ways are good for us but it seems such a waste of time as most of us just do the work given and rarely communicate with each other and yes some may say "DE helps you to communicate better" but in the students POV, the effects are tiny. Us talking to our friends and teacher during classes actually helps more than the DE classes and if we want to improve our vocab and grammar we can always ask our English teacher. DE is liked by other countries example the UK because most students are scared to talk with the teachers and DE helps them to communicate but for Malaysians we will always have teachers that are like close to us and act like friends. Just a reminder, we students still respect the teachers ok.. Furthermore in a financial POV, we have to pay extra for DE and as I said just now it seems like a waste of time hence we are actually wasting our money. It is not students that dislike this even some teachers dislike as they have the same mindset as us, " time wasting". If our school wants to have like some extra English learning thing, I suggest we just do extra classes with our English teacher and in said classes we will just focus on the intonation, grammar and vocab of how we speak.
