The council just confirmed that Mannes Lane will finally be sealed. I never imagined this would actually happen when I started the petition. This win belongs to all of you who spoke up for our neighborhood.

There is a dark cloud gathering over Mannes Lane. This road is currently scheduled for maintenance twice per year. It's not nearly enough and has become very dangerous at times. Children are at risk getting to and from school. Running, walking, bike riding, horse riding, dog walking etc is no longer safe. Let's seal Mannes Lane and make our road safe all year round!

I really never expected to see this much interest in our little road. You all have completely turned this into a real movement and I am just doing my best to keep up with your energy.

This road as well as Collins Lane and Hargreaves road and many of the other dirt roads in Emu Creek and Axe Creek have had significant increases in traffic but not investment in maintenance to match. They are dangerous and are also ruining our vehicles.
On numerous occasions we are forced to put our vehicle into the grass to avoid damage from stones thrown up from passing vehicles. We regularly travel Mannes Lane to visit friends. The situation is not only dangerous but a health hazzard to any person cycling or walking.
We moved to Mannes Lane in 1996 and were told the road would soon be sealed. Its well overdue!!! Surely its not cost effective to just keep grading it.
I work down this road and have to drive down it every day. Mannes lane is perfect until you reach the unsealed section! It’s not only unsafe it is also extremely rough on cars. Please please fix it soon
Mannes Lane currently has dangerously large corrugations & soft shoulders which makes it an accident waiting to happen. The population of this area continues to increase and despite some of the highest rates in Bendigo we have sub-standard infrastructure with services that have remained largely unchanged in the last 10+ years. We are unable to safely use the road for recreational purposes & our children are unsafe using this road to access school buses. Mannes Lane needs to be sealed for the safe use of residents, visitors, tradespeople & delivery drivers.
Please fix this road before lives are lost. It is too dangerous.
This is one of a number of roads around Emu Creek that need sealing. Collins Lane is another (traffic in this area generally has increased with development - they are no longer just country lanes).

Unsafe dust levels associated with respiratory disease for people living along the road must also be considered. Partner lives at 528 Mannes Lane and travel the road daily.
