Denying this young man an opportunity to finish his education in the only school district he knows is unfair and ridiculous. As a choice family (my son Brandon graduated in '14), it was my understanding that he since he has been in Georgetown for 10+ years, he would be grandfathered into the choice program and not have to reapply. How is this fair to the Espinal family to allow their daughter to remain but not their son? Please keep Leo at GMHS. He's a wonderful young man who deserves to finish out his education with the teachers and friends who have been for him all these years. Have some compassion...

This is the most craziest thing I've heard... I was never a Georgetown resident and was able to attend Georgetown high even after they stopped school choice. Leo is a great kid and he can be a great role model to others. let Leo stay!!

To the Gtown School Committee,
Here is a young man who wants the type of education you proudly insist GMHS can deliver. Yet you deny him admittance to your school for his senior year because "there is no room" for him in your classrooms. His senior year, folks! Has he been a "problem" student? I think not! I would think that you would jump at the chance to have a conscientious student who has the potential to inspire others to do their best. Leo Espinal could be an excellent leader in the classroom. He could do great things that would bring shining praise to the Gtown School System. By allowing Leo to complete this portion of his educational journey, which began here in Gtown, you will be providing the continuity of care and support that a young man needs to grow to his fullest potential. Please do not let Leo Espinal down as he eagerly seeks to finish his education at GMHS with the admin, teachers, fellow students, and friends that he had come to know so well. Please reconsider your decision and allow Leo to join the many great students of GMHS for his senior year. Good Luck to Leo. Thank you. - H. Ouellette, GMHS Alumni, Class of 1987

What is it that you do not understand ? This is a very smart and special Kid from your school system all ready. Why in the hell would you do this to him at this point in this young people L.I.F.E. Why. ? If I were you I would be thinking about this again. You have room for one person. Don't play this game with a very smart kid. It will back fire on you. Gary Gill

Laughable... this boy has been going to Georgetown since 1st grade! Is their a lack of integrity so great? It isn't like he's a student wanting to just transfer to Georgetown & there's no room...he has friends & is completely comfortable with his environment in Georgetown public schools. Do they not consider this? ...

Leo should be able to stay school committee. That is stupid that his sister can stay in the school committee and he can't. That is not right at all. Who care if he leave in a different town. His been going to Georgetown school for so long it shouldn't matter. They are lying if they are saying there is no room in the school. Good luck Leo you should be able to stay in the school.
