The school committee confirmed this morning that Leo is officially reinstated for the upcoming term. We have reached our objective and his enrollment status is now secure. I will monitor the administrative transition to ensure there are no further complications.

Hey guys, my best friend Leo Espinal has been denied access to continue his schooling at Georgetown because he is no longer a Georgetown resident. The Georgetown school committee is refusing to let him choice in even though he has attended the Georgetown schools for close to 11 years. They are quoting that there "isn't enough room" for him which is completely outrageous . They are letting kids from other towns choice in before a student who has been going to the schools for such a long time!? Even his own sister is being allowed to attend but not him, this is a complete outrage and in order for him to stay we need to show the school system how much we really want and need our fellow classmate and friend. I wont stand to know that my best friend who has been a long time Georgetown student wont be allowed to stay with the friends and teachers he has grown to know and love. Plus who wants to deal with the new school stress especially in such a crucial year in every students life. It isn't fair so we need to make a difference and change this. I have requested a formal meeting with the school committee to review the residency policy and the inconsistencies regarding sibling enrollment. My next step is to deliver a compilation of these documented concerns directly to the superintendent office later this week.

Let my brother stay! I graduated from Georgetown been part of the system since 7 grade its not fair for him to go to school in Georgetown since 1st grade and not be allowed to finish his high school career at Georgetown. He loves it! Let him stay!
Denying this young man an opportunity to finish his education in the only school district he knows is unfair and ridiculous. As a choice family (my son Brandon graduated in '14), it was my understanding that he since he has been in Georgetown for 10+ years, he would be grandfathered into the choice program and not have to reapply. How is this fair to the Espinal family to allow their daughter to remain but not their son? Please keep Leo at GMHS. He's a wonderful young man who deserves to finish out his education with the teachers and friends who have been for him all these years. Have some compassion...
Laughable... this boy has been going to Georgetown since 1st grade! Is their a lack of integrity so great? It isn't like he's a student wanting to just transfer to Georgetown & there's no room...he has friends & is completely comfortable with his environment in Georgetown public schools. Do they not consider this? ...
Leo should be able to stay school committee. That is stupid that his sister can stay in the school committee and he can't. That is not right at all. Who care if he leave in a different town. His been going to Georgetown school for so long it shouldn't matter. They are lying if they are saying there is no room in the school. Good luck Leo you should be able to stay in the school.
There are so many teenagers that want nothing to do with school, and Leo is fighting to stay in, Georgetown should be honored to have a student like Leo in their high school!

I was very lucky to be able to choice into Ipswich this year and that fact that Georgetown decides to deny Leo access is disappointing. With me leaving the school there shouldn't be any reason there isn't room for Leo, he should get my spot now that I've left.
