What made AHS band director decide the song was bad? Before long we will not have history to look back on. To many people get hurt feeling over our history. History is history move on.

There are more important issues in Arab than taking Dixie away fom this band group. Leave Arab Band Members to be Proud of their years in the band and the hard work they have put forth in these years that AHSB has accomplished so many arwards. Now to tear it apart with taking DIXIE away from supporting their football team spirit and the love for the AHSB. There are Seniors in the band that will be starting off the school year already with termoil. Give these Seniors all other band members, parents, supporters, Band Director, all volunteers and anyone else thru the years that has supported the Band. KEEP DIXIE ALIVE...... Let the Band continue playing DIXIE and be proud of their new stadium. There was enough controversie with getting the roads to the stadium without taking Dixie away from one of the greatest bands in Alabama. We have enough issues with drugs, thieves and other Big issues. Leave the fight Song Dixie along so the team and band members, Band Director
parents, volunteers, sponsors and anyone else who had contributed to this band can be PROUD of their hard work. There is a ring to the sound of Dixie.... Good Luck AHSB from a parent that has a daughter who finished ay AHS...

I graduated from AHS many years ago. The memories of this fun song on Fridays is one of my favorites. Traditions are important to our society and family structures, and I would urge you to reconsider removing this. You are hurting the people who make up the community, and trying to appease some deep-seeded resentment and unrest that can’t possibly ever be appeased-let alone with the removal of a song. Let the kids have their song, and let’s not continue trying to whitewash the school’s music and history.

I think it’s rediculous that you would stop playing the song “DIXIE” because someone complained about it. Get a life, and a backbone, and stand up for your students!!! Unbelievable!!!
