Let's Keep 12 story buildings out of Rainier Valley!

The profits of builders are being put ahead of residents, as usual. No consdieration is given to expanding the services that this many new residents would require; schools, services, parking. The builders should pay for these costs! And the considerable added congestion that others have mentioned is a big quality of life issue for everyone.

A 12 story building is clearly out of prion for the area in terms of sight, aesthetics, and human experience. It will be an eye sore. And while I haven't seen the studies, apparently, such an addition will greatly increase traffic congestion. This residential project is proposed to maximize profit and not optimize the common good of the neighborhood. Obviously there needs to be a balance, but where do we draw the line?

Do not reconfigure Rainier. It is already challenging to get through the valley with the number of lights and congestion due to the buses and other traffic. aa 12 story building is outside of the character of the valley.

Density in urban areas helps decrease sprawl, yet this proposal does not have the services to support it. Traffic, which is already difficult, will increase as well. This is not downtown where, a quick walk to restaurants shopping etc. is available. These future residents WOULD NOT be pedestrians. This is a very poor proposal.

Developers work with residents of other neighborhoods such as Pike/Pine to build structures that do not loom over the area. Transit oriented density is one thing. Carte blanche for developers is something else.

I'm all for increased density but this is too much and way out of scale for the neighborhood.

I am FOR density and mixed use development along Rainier. I live firther south and am willing to sacrifice increased traffic to acheive density and development goals. However, despite my leanings, this 125 foot allowance seems unjustified and out of sync with the existing built environment and the wishes of the community.

That building would be so out of proportion that it would be ridiculous. Please don't do this to use here in the Rainier Valley

This is wrong, the whole valley is zoned for 65 feet. This is enough. We must not change our community in this manner. It is not good for all the families and countless businesss in the Rainier Valley.

please leave our valley the way it is, we so not need another apartment building let alone a 12 story one. How about some nice retail store or just leave Lowes there.

No more ugly Seattle box buidings that tower over human beings. No more building to the sidewalk and destroying the city's canopy. This has to stop somehwere. Let's stop it at Rainier and McClellan.

12 stories is too tall! I'm glad that Paris was built with lower buildings, the neighborhoods are great because of it.

Is this gentrification? For who? What is the purpose of this escalation? Who will benefit? Not those of us currently living in the neighborhood.

NO to 12 story buildings on Rainier!!

The proposed rezone is completely uncompatible with the neighborhood and surrounding areas.

The proposed rezone is completely disproportionate.

Rainier is already stagnant with too many cars and buses...having 12 stories of new families moving is going to clog the whole freeway transition from the south end. NO to the re-zone!

65 feet is tall enough

12 stories is too much. Consider the traffic impact on Rainier and MLK, but worse, consider what will happen on Lake Washington Blvd, at the beach, getting on to I90 - it will be a mess. PLUS it will be so out of scale to the rest of the area - sore thumb, sprawl, ugly. Please vote no! thank you

Listen to the community instead of developers. We do not need a 12 sotry building, we need a hardware store!
