Greetings from Down Under.If Jon Stewart had only ever written one song namely One More Town he would have deserved a place in the Hall of Fame.Yet,he created a half century's worth of melodic and perceptive songs.

Ironic...Yesterday I just happened to be in the car when Sirius XM played GOLD...called my son 10K miles away and we reminisced about "The Lord of All Pickers."

Only the greatest songwriter who ever lived. That's about the only argument I can make, and the only one I should need to make! I have no band, but I love music, and so much of the reason I love music is because of John Stewart. Johnny has earned his membership.

There is not a single day in the last almost 30 years that John has not been a part of . Our band plays John's songs, I met my closest friend at a Turning Point show, I'm constantly "quoting" John's expressions, and often just laugh out loud when I think of John's humor. Both of my sons, now in their thirties, still talk of John's concerts they attended when they were not even teenagers. To say he is a great song writer is not enough, he is the best! My sign off I learned from John "All the Best". All our love to Buffy and family ,and to my buddy of 30 years "Dave".

Fond memories of seeing John and crew perform many times here in the Phoenix area and attending a songwriting workshop as part of his regular Kingston Trio band camps. A great American singer-songwriter, a true original, truly deserving of induction in the Song Writer Hall of Fame!

John Stewart’s work is an oasis in the desert wasteland of American song writing. While modern history has delivered a plethora of song writers who slog the worn and muddied trail of adolescent romantic angst John’s combinations of fine melodies and insightful lyrics touch the less obvious and oh so important emotions that make up our humanity.
