Yes, our kids need to get up and move and be outside! It will improve everything overall I’m sure of it.

The only thing that alleviates my daughter's extensive tics is strenuous exercise. This type of rigorous, heart pumping activity cannot be achieved in a classroom full of furniture. She comes home at the end of each day and goes into full blown restraint collapse on an almost daily basis due to holding herself together and fighting her tics as best she can all day long. She is 7 years old and highly active. Recess would absolutely be highly beneficial for both my children who attend Highland, but especially my little girl. I hope this request will be considered when planning the master schedule for next year!! :)

I especially want it not be withheld as a punishment. A child who gets in trouble during class probably could use some time outside or playing inside to use up some energy and be able to concentrate better!
