If you’ve not seen ‘Never Hike Alone’, the Friday the 13th fan film by Wompstompfilms and Director Vincente DiSanti, then you’re really missing out. DiSanti also plays Jason in this amazing tribute to everyone’s favorite force of nature. The film has the feel of an actual Friday the 13th Classic, without relying on modern horror trends such as jump scares and crappy CGI. The atmosphere and mood is perfect and I really want to see what DiSanti and Wompstompfilms could do with a decent budget and an actual major studio backing them. After the dismal failure of the ‘Nightmare on Elm Street’ and other classic franchises, Jason needs to be delivered to someone that understands and loves the series and can deliver the mood and feel that the franchise’s fans deserve. I run the YouTube channel, ‘Channel of the Living Dead, and as a massive F13 fan, and a lukewarm viewer of the recent film, I wanted to see ‘Friday the 13th’ return to how it’s SUPPOSED to be, and the way the industry is now, it’s guaranteed to be ruined if not placed with the right people. I have complete confidence that DiSanti and Wompstompfilms ARE those people.
