This spring, the Winchester Trails HOA chose to remove the kiddie (or wading) pool. This was an exceptionally important part of our community. Families with young children are a very large percentage of the pool patrons, and they will no longer have a safe, shaded place to enjoy the pool with their little ones. The only option for families will be to crowd the stairs of the pool, which is unsafe, and a nuisance to other swimmers.
We, the undersigned, are concerned Winchester Trails residents who urge our leaders to act now to install a permanent children's water feature within the fenced pool area to allow families to enjoy this important ammenity.

Scanning the park each afternoon still feels wrong without the sound of the kids at the wading pool. I have been speaking with neighbors who feel just as stranded as my own family while we wait for the board to acknowledge that our children deserve a safe space in the water.

Seeing so many neighbors agree that our kids deserve a safe space to play makes me feel like we might actually turn this around. It is heartening to realize I am not the only one mourning the loss of a spot where my own little ones used to spend every summer afternoon.

Getting rid of the kiddie pool and putting in an above ground pool is the worst idea. Imagine a toddler trying to get out of it and tripped over the inflated edge and falling face first on the concrete. Toddlers shouldn’t need to be confined to the stairs of the main pool and making it harder for patrons to enter and exit via the stairs. A splash pad sounds like a great idea.
I believe we should make our community inclusive for all members, regardless of age or ability. A splash pad would offer another water option and add value to our neighborhood.
The people who forgot the children must not have any. The pool for the children in the summer was fun.
We have lived here 7 years and Just we’re going to start enjoying the kiddie pool as a family we just had our baby last year. To know a it will not be there this year was very disappointing. Every pool has an option for kids? Why wouldn’t our neighborhood do that?
Seems the current BOD did not make much effort to solicit resident's wishes before spendiing a lot of money on what they wanted. Should've formally polled the neighborhood as prior BODs did for important events.
A water feature for the kids would be amazing!
Our two year old twins would absolutely love this, you got my signature.

I would much rather any money go towards a splash pad as opposed to rebuilding a kiddie pool.
