I am petitioning because I have been asked to remove a puppy from my unit. I presantly have an 8 year old Shupoo (12 lbs), and I have been looking after a puppy (Toy Poddle - maturity 6 lbs) for a friend (due to illness), and not sure when they can take the puppy back. The puppy has been with me for several months and both my Shupoo and myself have grown very attached to the puppy. Not sure what is going to happen with puppy, but if my friend can't keep the puppy, it would be nice to know I could keep the puppy if it comes down to it. The Rules and Regulations, dated June 30, 2003, states one (1) pet per Residential Unit as permitted by the Declaration, shall be kept on the property. I would like this changed to two (2) pets per Residential Unit. Provided the behavior of the dogs and owner are treating the residents and property with respect. As well, dogs expected to exceed 25 pounds weight at maturity are not permitted. I think this rule should be changed to the discretion of the Board. Some larger dogs are better behavied then dogs under 25 lbs. I would like to see this removed. Also on are window at the front lobby it states, 25 lb (11.4 kg) Maximum Weight on premises. If you have guest that has a dog greater then 25 lbs and are well behavied, why should we discriminate on size, as long as it is on a leash, well behavied and goes directly to the unit or walked outside on a leash, there should be no problem. I would like to see this removed and only see it state that all dogs must me on a leash. I hope you see my opinions as valid ones, and will stand beside me and have these rules changed for the love of our four legged furry kids, who give so much love back. Thanks for your consideration and time. A concerned dog lover.
