Let him play. The NCAA should be helping student athletes, not damaging their lives.

NCAA - Why are you so hard on this kid? Incredible lack of judgment here.

I am severely disappointed in the arbitrary and capricious actions of the NCAA. There was no intent to defraud, make money, or hide anything. It was a failure to file paperwork as required by a new rule. BYU self-reported and Yoeli fully cooperated, yet you're punishing him. I hope it's not true, but, NCAA bigotry and discrimination is the only thing I can actually point to with the current unjust decisions by the NCAA. There is no defense to these actions, especially since other schools have fabricated fake grades, taken money from shoe manufacturers with no penalities. Have the courage to rescind this overreaching decision to a more just penalty.

NCAA once again shows it's true colors passing down a harsh penalty for a clerical error while letting programs replete with academic cheating, paid athletes, and sexual assault off with a slap on the wrist.

Slap on the wrist when tutors attend school for players, but a kid who made a paperwork error who wants to stay an amateur get suspended? NCAA=major egg on face. Do the right thing and reverse this.
