This is completely ridiculous. Banning a sport? For what reason? I'm a disabled combat veteran, and I skateboard everyday. This makes me ill to think that I served my country so people would waste their time on something SO PETTY.

Skateboarding is not a crime.

Public skateparks add value to any community. Outlawing this sport without a proper alternative only enhances a negative association with our choice of recreation, and disables a diverse creative outlet. The financial and human resources required to enforce prosecuting these potential “criminals” can be more efficiently implemented into building quality recreation facilities. Thank you.

SKATE OR DIE

Build more skate parks or skateboard friendly areas. We understand that the city is trying to beautify but you are discriminating against an entire culture of people. Skateboarders will take care of the places you build if you give them a place to enjoy skateboarding.

Skaters will skate somewhere whether you ban it or not. Create better places to ride and they won't be in places you don't want them. They are just people exercising an artistic physical freedom and creativly redefining their environment to use it to a level you just don't understand. They turn an unvalued piece of concrete into an endless source of inspiration to be creative with. Do you want them playing videogames or doing drugs instead? Let them use their energy in a positive creative way.

Quit taking away things for kids to do. What are they supposed to do with their free time? Quit being stuck up prudes and let kids be kids.

If we get rid of independent sports, then we might as well get rid of team sports. Why? People will be people, kids will be kids and boys will be boys. Start small. If you want people to change then ask your self how you can change the lives and minds of Indiana. If we want to meet good people in independent sports then we need to be involved and I’m not saying financially. It’s a simple as picking up a cheap skateboard, scooter, bmx bike and just ride and have fun and if you don’t like to test your limits or have friends test your limits to see what kind of things you can do on what ever it is then choose something that helps you can relax and you can enjoy doing it. Now a days people are ridiculous, like this ban on a certain independent sport. How are you possibly going to stop any one from riding? Take them to jail? Give them a ticket? This sport has been around for long enough for people to know it’s been done and it’s irrelevant. Your wasting the people’s time and money and over time you will unfortunately see what it is that i am talking about. I know you want go out and experience the sport for yourself. I don’t mean go to a skate park and ride around and say hi to people because they won’t be nice. It’s how people are regardless of what sport. Go to a basketball court and ask if you can play. You could get onto a team and have an awesome time. Unfortunately/ fortunately, everyday is not the same as the day before. We know this. Good luck but the communities power is stronger than you’re laws unfortunately and we know not all of us will get arrested. I only say this and not because I’m mad. “Surprisingly” I think it’s funny because we really just tried this and for what reason? To keep our buildings damage free? I understand you will be spending a lot of money for something you shouldn’t have to spend money on especially when we have skateparks.
