Going through a similar issue where the school want us to pay extremely high fees to maintain their pitch and pay rent as well!!!

More needs to be done for the kids sports in our area. It is of vital importance to keep our kids active! that was a very late move but the school- poor form!

This is a huge blow to grassroots football in the local area and will leave 100s of children without a winter training facility

This is clearly going to have an impact on children’s football. Very little notice was given. Chelsea should have taken the time and care to assess the impact of this.

Grow grassroots! They have to start somewhere to be given the chance to get to these higher levels.

It's a disgrace. Chelsea has the financial resource to find alternatives, and it smacks of greed from the schools involved. I understand they need to find sources of revenue but as state schools, should fully understand the importance of participation in grassroots sport for young people.

Very disappointing that local grass roots football is being cancelled for an academy that already has sufficient infrastructure in place and is ready to ruin local football opportunities. This shouldn’t be allowed to happen.

How can they get away with this, the government are trying to promote sport for youngsters, this will ruin it for everyone in the local community, really sad and very late notice, providing no alternate arrangements.

Surely Chelsea have the resources to sort out alternative facilities - too sad to discourage genuine grassroots interest in the game - nevermind the positives of encouraging kids into sport
