Let us have our say on the proposed Benalla cinema and cafe project!

Council, Please consult with the community on this ill-considered project. The design of the proposed building is incompatible with the natural beauty of the lakeshore and puts unnecessary pressure on existing businesses. No-one can be proud of an eyesore on the lake. Please consult with ratepayers.

Over budget underquoted too many secrets

The most ludicrous proposal yet from Benalla Council. Who is going to earn out of this? Boutique cinema? Is it for those with a decent incense me? Totally unnecessary when we already have a cinema that runs at a loss.

More consultation needed. Advise residents how this will be funded into the future

Let's do it properly, councillors own it to ratepayers for accountability and answering to ratepayers. Its a corrupt governance that will not give truthful answers.

Exisiting cinema loses big money and you want to throw more money away on a new one. This shows how disconnected from reality and it’s rate payers council really is. Wake up to yourselves

Two issues! 1. The need for another theatre in the town is a dubious claim. 2. Building an underground complex on the floodplain is a special example of stupidity.

The current BRCC proving to be stunningly inept once again. Try rubbing a few neurones together next time.

So typical of this council knows nothing but thinks it knows everything

Benalla has a lot more pressing needs than a new Cinema. The footpaths...if any...are disgraceful. Drainage needs attention. The B.A.C. desperately needs a new Program Shed.

I do not agree with my tax payer money being spent on the proposed cinema and cafe. It’s an expensive waste of money which could be used for more useful projects that are necessary for improving the community for the majority.

Street beautification, road and gutter upgrades should be where OUR rates are spent. Council should be sacked.

BRCC needs to show transparency and be much more responsible to and for its rate payers.

We don't need thos money would be better spent on our roafs

I am not in favour of spending this amount of money on a cinema when we already have one in town. The monies would be better spent on maintaining the roads and footpaths, being an older lady with mobility issues I find that some of the footpaths are a trip Hazzard eg. Maginness Street and Nun Street

I feel that it won't make any difference to attendance of people wherever a cinema is council could look at beautifying the town more to create more tourists & upgrade footpaths & maybe pitch in with some money to fix the old high school that could be used for public functions

Money could be spent on more urgent needs for the community

Waste of ratepayers money. Spend it fixing roads and drainage and footpaths.
