WE DID IT!! THE SCHOOL OFFICIALLY REVERSED THE POLICY AND CHLOE AND JOHNNY ARE GOING TO WALK ACROSS THAT STAGE!! I AM ABSOLUTELY THRILLED THAT OUR EXCHANGE STUDENTS GET TO BE A PART OF THIS BIG MOMENT!!

As of now foreign exchange students attending Marcos de Niza High School are not allowed to participate in graduation activities. We are writing this to show our support towards Chloe, Johnny and any other foreign exchange students who agree with our cause of allowing foreign exchange students to walk at graduation, not receive a diploma but to participate in the ceremony and simply have their name called while they walk the stage like all other graduates of the 2016 Class.
I believe that our school should live on its legacy of diversity and immerse the student’s culture through acceptance. We are writing here to say that it's unfair to our foreign exchange students who’ve spent an entire year, who come all the way from their home countries to this school, have been active on campus, and have been denied the right to participate in the first largest milestone of their lives. This is to inform graduates, students, teachers, administration, alumni, and the community that if we can all come together and collaborate we can help make a change for the better of others. Because our future leaders come these graduates...

Our diploma me as nothing in Europe since their standards hor high school graduation are often more rigorous than ours. They are more than qualified to walk.
What a nice way to show these exchange students our support. I know we allowed our exchange students to do that back over forty years ago in Maine. It's a good will gesture.
To not let any student walk for any reason other than insubordination is an insult to students everywhere. To allow students to attend our school, yet not participate in academic achievements is very disturbing.
Once a padre always a padre, they are at one of the best schools I will ever attend in my life and I couldn't imagine coming to a school this great and welcoming and not being able to walk.
Why did you let her go to school there if you were not going to let her graduate. Did you let her know when she enrolled that she could not graduate? How fair is that !!!!
if graduation is not the tradition, then why not let them? if they want to graduate, thats fine.
Even tho they r foreign, they should still have the right to walk

Foreign Exchange students deserve the same rights as all of the other students. This rule is not only unjust, but allows discrimination to continue in an increasingly open society. The rules should change as times change so that no one is denied privileges without due cause. Let them walk!
