This was a project I heard about and wanted to return to Florida (from the UK) to see once it was completed - it's a tourist draw and it'd be a shame to see something so brave in concept be shut down.

Orlando should have more mega structures and tourist attractions. Likewise to New York City having Statue of Liberty as one of many other examples. With that in mind I support petition for building Polar Coaster on International Drive wich is one of the most scenic sales productive tourist attracting streets in Orlando.

The same companies that fight tourist projects like this roller coaster on I-Drive also fight to keep non-tourist industries out of the Orlando area because they don't want any industry which pays higher wages to compete with them for labor so this is not a matter of protecting the quality of life for those of us living near I-Drive. I happen to like population density and believe that anyone who loves nature has a major stake in making sure that people love cities too so that there aren't constant conflicts between people and bears or gators as we bring urban sprawl into wetlands. I live so near to Universal Studios that I hear the fireworks going off right outside my window every night, but that doesn't mean that I don't live in a quiet community with enough darkness and silence for crane birds, turtles, ducks, squirrels, etc. to make themselves at home a few feet from my door in full view of my breakfast table. My husband had a view of the very tall Orlando Eye wheel from his hospital room, which did not make it impossible for him to sleep when it was lit at night. The colors were very soothing to someone who was very sick and kept in isolation so it may very well have benefited him during his stay. I lived along a streetcar line for 23 years, and I would wake up when it stopped running unexpectedly but slept just fine when it ran all through the night. I suspect the same would soon be true of people sleeping nearest the Skyplex.

On the 12th at the Wyndham hotel on I drive, a meeting with the developer will be held. He needs all the support he can possibly get. It is "to hold a meeting with the people"...well people....some of you need to show up and defend this project and SPECEFICALLY its height. Contact as many people in Orlando who want this as you can that a meeting is happening. A counsel woman feels their trying to pressure Josh Wallack into defending the project, we need people there to defend it for him.

The Skyplex, including the roller coaster that's part of it, will be a huge draw to bring new people to central Florida! All the parks and nearby areas will benefit with adding the Skyplex.
