Let Peter Grace and Grace McDonough be Junior Marshalls
Fellow Seniors of Stillwater Area High School, as we are closing in on graduation, Junior Marshals have been selected for the ceremony. For those who do not know, a Junior Marshal is a position of prestige bestowed upon four Juniors. These students play an important role in the graduation ceremony and help recognize all of us as we finally complete high school.
Surprisingly to many of us, some of our own peers, Peter Grace and Grace McDonough were not selected as Junior Marshals. This was due to confusion of the selection process for Junior Marshals.
All confusion and ill will behind, the Senior Council, as an organization highly responsible for the planning of graduation to the needs and wants of our class, in theory answers to us. Given this, we are asking you to sign this petition to declare your support to the Senior Council, Principal Bach, and any authority necessary, for the idea that Peter and Grace should be added to the ranks of this year’s Junior Marshals.
Peter and Grace have been at SAHS since we all started here as Sophomores. They have been in our classes, played in our musical ensembles, played in our sports, participated in our clubs and shared in our experiences. They are our friends and acquaintances and they have lived every moment that we haved lived here at SAHS. They are so ingrained in the culture of the class of 2019 that many do not even know that they are not graduating this year with us. Let us make it clear to Mr. Bach, the administration, and Senior Council that we want them to also be able to share in the final moments of our high school careers, just as they have shared in so many moments before!
