We need sports because for some kids it helps them with problems they may be facing and playing a sport helps them get over issues with participating in these curricular activities.

The Director of the CDC stated 2 weeks ago the common flu is 5-10x more dangerous than COVID -19 to school-aged children. There are zero deaths to under 30 year olds in Minnesota, Michigan and Wisconsin. Iowa’s State website lists COVID-19 deaths from 18-40 years of age; does not list any under 18. We simply cannot proclaim to follow the science while remaining willfully blind to the data. Further, there are other serious health and wellness shortcomings of continuing lock downs under the one-size-fits-all practice that are past due for correction.

DMPS survey was rude. Either fall activities or virtual/hybrid model that we could social distance. It’s implying that if we want fall activities it will be “less safe” at school.

The DMPS School Board is thinking of ignoring the Iowa DOE regarding in-person instruction and following it on extracurricular learning? The "adults" responsible for this decision should stop playing politics and do the right thing for the well-being of students.

This isn’t good for the kids mental health all it will do is give them and the teachers a chance to be lazy

The inconsistencies are mind boggling. Make them go to school but don’t give them an opportunity to take part in the whole school experience is asinine. The politics behind this should make the organization be ashamed of themselves.
