There are so many kids in our district who excel in activities such as arts, drama, music and sports to name a few. Taking this away only hurts the students. Please do not take this opportunity from them simply because the state does not agree with Des Moines’ RTL plan. At the end of the day, it is about the students. Do not take this opportunity from them.

I support XC, Golf, Soccer, and other outdoor, non-contact sports, but cannot in good conscience support FB and VB (if played indoors).

To not theses kids compete this year would be devastating to a lot of people including the city of Des Moines and the surrounding metro area. Especially for the ones in their senior season of football, not knowing that they had played their last of football ever. Football for me has turned me into who I am now, it has taught me to be responsible, I learned a strong work ethic and had coaches who were like a father figure to me, with that being said it would be a shame to not let these kids play football and learn who they are as a person and as an adult and know the BRAND NEW head coach of the Hoover Huskies I know that he will be the role model and father figure that some of his players need!

We need to provide every safe opportunity for our kids to be involved in. Many extra-curricular activities can be made safe!

Not fair that they won’t get to play when they have been together practicing for a month. Home schooled kids get to play sports! So should our kids!!!

Most kids depend on sports activities to keep them sane or in good state of mind and keep them out of trouble so please let our kids play if it’s not sports most kids turn to gangs and violence
