Let Our Kids Compete

I do not have children, but back in the day when I was growing up we had P.E and sports. I agree, having activiities helps children/teenagers/college age individuals to learn responsibility and team work. I also read ( and please correct me if I am wrong) but collge students are not in hte high risk category ( unless they are in Chemo treatments?). Now they need more normalcy than ever, and with no activities, yes drug, alcohol and other issues will grow with a snowballing effect.

There is so much potential in the young adults competing in any sport. When I was one of those kids sports was my outlet. Let the young adults compete.

Let them compete for some this is what they need in there lives so they don’t resort to illegal activity.

Let them go to school too

I need to be able to get a scholarship and I can’t do that if you take away sports too.

Let them play!!!

Please let the kids have some normalcy to this crazy time in their lives .

Let the kids play if they choose to. Why do we insistent on telling others what they can or can’t do based on our opinion of situations? Let them decide and if some want to play let them play. They can’t control what school board chooses.

Let. Them. Play.

My son has been practicing working hard around the calendar, without activities my son will have nothing to keep him busy. That’s how a lot of kids get lost in the streets. Let’s keep the doors open for our students to provide opportunities for their future

We need schools and sports

Please give all children the option to compete. We can all speak to the impact activities have on children. Do not punish the kids for the decisions adults make.

In the interest of shrinking the opportunity gap, I hope our students are granted the same opportunities as everybody else. It would be inequitable for our kids to lose access and opportunity to activities because of their zip code. Governor Reynolds and the Iowa Department of Education have shown they have no interest in leveling the playing field for the most underprivileged and marginalized student populations in the state. Leadership has been absent in Iowa. Time for DMPS, once again, to fill the void. Let our kids compete.

Let them play

Just because schools for safety reasons are meeting for six hours during the day over the internet does not mean it isn't also safe for students to meet for an hour or so after school in extracurricular activities where they can socially distance from one another.

Sports are very important for social well-being. Our children need this!

It is safer to have them on the field than it is to have him in the halls and classrooms let them compete!
