Let Oscar retire with the pension he earned

The Garwood Board of Education should be ashamed of itself. All fathers, daughters and workers should put themselves in his position and acknowledge how cruel and inhumane this is.

Oscar has been a vital part of Garwood Schools through his hard-work and dedication. He has always gone above and beyond what has been asked of him, and has earned his pension.

He’s the best!!

Garwood needs to have compassion. He has been such a big part of our schools.

I went to lincoln school and for all my years there he has been amazing and was looked up to by the students. After everything he has given to this community he is one of the deserving people that I can think and to be treated like this at the end of his tenure is not cool. As a former student it is only right that a simple 2 month extension be granted.

This is terrible, give this man what he deserves.

He deserves every penny of retirement. How could anyone deprive him of that

Oscar was one of the most memorable people from my time at Garwood schools. A hard worker that treated everyone with kindness and respect. Whoever was apart of the decision to not give him two more months is cruel and far from the role model that Garwood Schools need.

Oscar is a highly respectable human being and extremely hard working staff member of our school. Loved by all staff members and students alike. His situation is completely unfair !

I was a student at Garwood schools from 2003-2012 and Oscar was already there and working for those schools at that time and he has earned his right to this pension with his retirement. Give him what he has earned and deserves.

Oscar not only worked hard to keep the school clean but was always friendly and had a shockingly good attitude for someone whose job is cleaning up after school children. As a Lincoln School alum (class of 2011), this is incredibly disappointing and frustrating to hear.

It's inappropriate to let an employee go just to stop their pension from fully vesting. Small districts like Garwood have enough trouble hiring. The last thing we need is a reputation for treating employees unfairly.

I graduated in 2015 and I remember Oscar being the most dedicated hard worker always made school a little better when you’d see him, always had the biggest smile to whoever he talked to. He dedicated how many years to Garwood public schools he deserves his pension. Do the right thing as a moral human being would.

Give the man his pension he’s earned.

Oscar was absolutely the best when he worked with the Y in Garwood! So unfair!
