This is ridiculous. Give him an "unsigned" diploma and let him walk across the stage; have his photo taken; and finish his requirements by the end of June!!!! Sign the diploma, once the .5 credit requirement is fulfilled. It's a no brainer!!!!!!!!

It is unconscionable to prevent this student from walking with his graduating class. He has accomplished more than most people will at twice his age and done so while under the stress of actual life and death situations. It is shameful to have him hauled off by police when all he wants is to be with his peers during one of life's big transitional moments. Shame! How dare the school pretend to be an advocate for kids or for education. The world is watching you! Lead by example and DO THE RIGHT THING

The circumstances in this matter should allow for some discretion. It's impressive enough that he is only a half credit short considering being out with Meningitis.
Let him walk with his class and get his diploma when he finishes the half credit this summer.

As a fellow PID patient I fully understand and support your desire to walk with your class. Having an illness like yours already steals too many things from you; your ability to walk at graduation shouldn't be one of them. Shame on the powers that be for their lack of compassion. May they never find themselves in a position where they have to miss a life event because of something they can't control.

Denying this child the opportunity to walk in graduation is nothing short of disgusting. Not only will I gladly sign this petition I will be calling the school tomorrow.
