I really hope this decision is reversed! It is awful to me that this is even an issue!

Verona school officials should be ashamed of themselves. They are terrible role models.

When has education become "a total loss of common sense."

As a mother of a 504 student in another district I think this is total crap. Let this boy walk with his class! #letnoahwalk

Let him walk. Not taking anything from the school. Just might show that some do care.

Verona school district, This is embarrassing; your role is to teach students more than ABCs and 123s. Your role is to teach and model compassion and critical thinking. You are supposed to be role models of higher level education and demonstrate the ability to act and react appropriately to every given situation. You have failed in your job. You have not only failed Noah, but you have failed every student and parent that looked to you for your roll as an educational leader. You have a rare opportunity to demonstrate to all of your chargers the capacity for human error and corrected judgement. Admit your mistake; roll model an apology; show the students how to handle themselves with grace by apologizing to Noah and letting him graduate. Teach that fair and equal are not the same, and demonstrate a compassionate heart. Sincerely, Karen Schmidt Director of Project Success University Wisconsin Oshkosh

It is not unusual for schools to allow students to walk while still needing to finish up requirements for graduation. This case should be no different especially given his medical condition. My brother was able to walk with his class in Verona even though he did not meet the requirements for graduation and in his case it was simply due to lack of effort. This is very disappointing to learn of the school district.

I was able to walk when graduating with my Masters degree... and my THESIS had not been approved. Let him walk with his class. I do NOT understand the reasoning behind not letting him do something so simple.

Let Noah Walk! This is awful that Gorrell is doing this. He needs to go and Noah needs to walk!! He will earn his diploma two weeks later! Think of all of the struggles Noah has been through, and then to top it off with this. It is disgusting!

Shame on VAHS! Noah has worked hard for the honor of graduating with his class and you take it away on a technicality? Exactly what do you teaching the young people in your high school?

I am a resident of Verona, and I have three children in the public school system, two at the high school, and I support this petition.
