Whoever blocked him from playing needs to get a life and realize this is high school hockey.

He lost a full season with shoulder surgery - this is totally absurd. The coach who implemented this should be embarrassed !

Shame on those that take the opportunity from students that want to play sports! Situations like these can be life changing. Let him play!

Noah should be allowed to play as a senior! They should have notified him of this "rule" when he played his first season! Athletics are a very important part of High School Education that Noah should not be robbed of!

The responsibility of an educator is to not only teach content but provide an opportunity and environment for their students to learn and gain confidence as a person. The responsibility of athletic coaches, ADs and decision makers on a board of a league is to make each student athlete a better person through creating an environment thats provides the experience of competition, teamwork and most importantly handling adversity. For a board of a league to look for a reason to take away any such opportunity is shameful. Rules are established to provide a fair and safe environment for participants. Rules are not to be twisted or altered to the detriment of a student athlete, particularly in a biased manner. Hundreds of student athletes in NYS have played 5 to 6 seasons at the Varsity level as some started in 7th or 8th grade. Suspensions are necessary based on actions of the student athlete not consistent with league rules, however the penalty/suspension has to be consistent and unbiased with previous determinations. Regarding Noah Kaplans violation of a league rule, I challenge any board member to provide precedent for any prior student athlete to be disqualified from further participation in the league based on his actions. Every prior determination resulted in a suspension for a determined amount of games, NEVER DISQUALIFICATION from participating in the league after serving a determined suspension. The actions of the board/committee are inconsistent and biased based on published league rules. Further, you are failing in your responsibility to exemplify fairness, consistency in decision making and precedent for prior identical penalties while contradicting the mission statement of the league. Your determination is Shameful and needs to be reconsidered with an outcome that proves the league will not tolerate violation of rules lightly, however be consistent with prior decisions and ALWAYS give all student athletes the opportunity to further participate after s

Noah Kaplan should be allowed to play his final 4th season. Students participation should be reviewed on a case by case basis. If a student has had an injury they should be granted the leniency to play the sport they love after recovery.
