Principal Meehan signaled that Niraj will walk at graduation after all. Thank you for pushing back and keeping the pressure on until they reversed this excessive punishment.

Niraj Patel recently was told by Mr. Meehan, the principal of Hickory Ridge High School, that he would be unable to walk during his high school graduation because of his participation in an innocent prank that harmed no one. He gave a junior an old senior gown and got him out of class to get in a senior picture. Though this is wrong, I personally feel not being able to walk is much too severe. If you feel the punishment is too severe as well, and that Niraj should be able to walk across the stage after enduring 4 years at Hickory Ridge High School, please sign this petition.

Principal Meehan needs to lighten up. It was a prank not a crime. Let the kid walk.

This is rediculous. He worked hard for 4 years just to get blocked over a dumb joke? Let him walk.

Seriously? So many schools let kids get away with way worse. This is just mean.
