Mr. Martin is an exceptional teacher. He truly cares about his students. He also makes sure his curriculum is focused on helping them understand the subject.
Mr Martin is also an incredible role model for today's generation. He inspires to be the best version of himself. He has principles, he's a proven marathoner, a vegan, and an active member in his community. He demonstrates true dedication to those principles, as well as to his work. Plenty of people in our school have been made better because of him.
He's also the co-creator of the West Adams's Marathon club. Thanks to him, dozens of students (myself included) have accomplished something life-changing, run a 26.2 mile race!
There are plenty of teachers at West Adams that do FAR less than Mr. Martin. I'd like to believe that our school system will do more than look at paperwork when determining who keeps their job.

I am the mother of 2 of Mr. Martin's students, Alexa and Astrid Alvarado. Since the beginning of the school year when my 2 girls joined the marathon club and I met Mr. Martin he became a big inspiration and part of their lives. They became engaged in the sport of running marathons and would practice consistently every single day. Mr. Martin has provided for my girls an after school activity that is very positive and good for them as I'm sure he has provided for all the other students that have joined. Not everyone likes baseball or football, so why take this away from them? He is also an amazing Spanish teacher. But most importantly, he became a friend for many. I am signing this petition on the hopes that Mr. Martin gets to stay at West Adams and continue to provide many students with the opportunity to believe in themselves and participate in such amazing activities such as The Los Angeles Marathon like my girls did thanks to the amazing training of such an extraordinary person such as Mr. Martin.

Hey um I'm Alex j went to Webster miudle school with Alexa and I ran the marathon with her in the 8 grade but anyways when I read that paragraph I like touched my heart so I hope you guys the best

I have never had the chance to personally meet Mr. Martin but I have seen him around & I know how much he means to my friends in marathon club. They are devoted to this team and losing Mr. Martin would be devastating. PLEASE LET MR. MARTIN STAY!

Mr. Martin is one of the greatest teachers at west adams. always there to help you in any situation.hes funny, he's always with a smile on his face and hes just that one teacher your looking foward to class with.. I had him for spanish last year and i have to say that was one of my top best classes... Most of my 10th grade memories were made in his class. There is NO WAY we can let him go from west adams. He is the best spanish teacher we had!
