Kaylayla Raine McMath is a student at Templeton Secondary school. For the past 4 years she’s been very involved in both the film and drama program.
She’s brilliant, creative, compassionate and hardworking. She’s also someone that beats to the tune of her own drum. She’s an amazing young women and I feel blessed to know her. A few years ago, she decided that she wanted to graduate early so for the past year she’s taken on extra courses and worked her butt off to obtain the credits she needs to graduate a year early. However,being a teenager is tough and she’s had more life challenges than most so she’s missed a lot of school. (Not flaking! Just dealing with her stuff) regardless she’s still been able to pass her courses.
The principal at Templeton had decided to deny her the right right to walk across the stage with her peers saying her attendance sets a bad example for other students.
I say she sets an amazing example!
She’s showing that even when life gets tough you can still push on through to reach your goals.
If this is something that resonates with you, please sign this petition to urge the principal at Templeton Secondary school to allow Kaylayla to go to grad. ( there are other students in exactly the same position as her who he has not denied this opportunity)

This totally resonates with me, I’ve missed a buttload of school because of issues that are out of my control and affect both my physical and mental health. You got this Kaylayla
This seems to be intolerably unfair, particularly as she has passed all her class assignments and extra classes as well. What on earth is the matter with your school? Is the policy written in the school policies??
I've witnessed firsthand how passionate and hardworking Kaylayla is. If the staff at Templeton sincerely believe that attending school is more important than one's emotional and mental well being, I suggest they do some serious reconsideration. Kaylayla has done nothing wrong - indeed, I believe she has done quite a lot very right. Let her graduate.
I don’t know the story first hand, but from what I do know, it sounds like Kaylayla has worked hard and competed the requirements for graduation, in spite of not being able to attend all the classes. This seems to demonstrate a student who is determined, smart, and successful. Why would you not want to celebrate that?
Attendance doesn’t prove someone is a hard worker in the work force. There are plenty of people who show up for their job every day and do as little as possible. A student who has passed all of their classes has earned the right to walk across the stage at graduation.

If she has the grades she gets the cap, teach. Each human gets one life, if this girl got the grades and classes to grad early she is clearly motivated to start hers now. Not to mention it kind of sounds like she did this all because she's in a position where she needs to jump start her adult life, so let her get on with it.
