This is literally killing my husband. Could not eat in dining room, walk the halls or go outside. He feels like a prisoner and doesn't deserve to have his last days alone. I need to see if he is being treated right and I want to hold him and kiss me. It's hard on me and our children and grandchildren also.

As an 80 year old, not in assisted living, but still somewhat isolated from my loved ones, due to the virus, I KNOW I would die, quickly, in a nursing home from the isolation.

I live in Oklahoma. Both of my parents are suffering as they have never been apart like this. My Dad had less freedoms than a prisoner as he is dependent on others and the facility isn't staffed to meet all their wants. Where if my mother could go in she could lift some of the demands.

You can present a certificate that you have been tested negative to virusthen Wear protective clothing and visit
loved ones NOW!! TOO much red tape. Let immediate family visits happen before the nursing home residents die.

Even with family locked out my Mother got Covid from a worker at her facility and amazingly survived at 93 but her health has deteriorated without family there .

When patients can not speak for themselves, family is key!
Families need to see the care their loved ones are receiving in order to have peace of mind during their loved ones stay. The patients need the support of their families.
Coronavirus protection is still needed. And there are measures that can be taken to insure safety.

All of us, including the elderly, NEED the support of their loved ones. Separation is the very worst and will create a situation where loss of human life will exceed that from COVID-19.

Everyone should be able to visit loved ones in nursing homes even if it’s through a glass window with some form of communication for them

My brother in law is an alshymer patient in worst possible place, upstate NY. My sister is nearby and can only talk to him from outside the window. With testing availability, temperature checking, and mask availability it would seem safe to admit her from time to time. No one looks forward to old age, but this makes it just more bleak!
