The criteria to determine if they can restore is if more than 50% of the structure(floors,roof,walls) is destroyed.
A licensed architect has stated in his opinion it can be restored.
Caffrey s is not responsible to protect developers investment $$$ to get the town center master plan approved by the state.
Lacey has been unsuccessful in getting this done for 15 years.
Ask the powers that be!!!

No matter how you look at it, it will take a year or more for the insurance company to settle and pay. Then at least a year to (re)build. Asking them to move the footprint is to be compliant with the master plan/zoning, not a money grab! Plus the future widening of Rt 9 has to be considered(not that it will happen) Besides, it will give the owners more options for a new building. I don't go there anyway, so it really doesn't matter.

Why would you want to mess with a Town institution!? Let them rebuild as quickly as possible! Don't you WANT the business this restaurant brings in?? LET THEM BUILD AS IT STOOD!

Leave Cafs exactly the way it was. We don’t want to wait 2 hrs for its completion. Why is the town trying to change its original layout. Keep your BS politics out of it
